OTTAWA Canada – March 26, 2014 - EION Wireless, a global manufacturer of licensed and unlicensed broadband wireless access and backhaul products headquartered in Ottawa, Canada is pleased to announce the release of the StarPlus 3Gig Broadband Wireless Platform for Service Providers. Operating in the 3.3 to 3.8 GHz frequency range StarPlus 3Gig provides WISPs and service providers with options to deploy in the licensed 3.65 GHz band in North America, or the 3.x GHz bands worldwide.

The new product platform is targeted towards fixed service providers and mission critical enterprise applications in the 3.x GHz licensed bands. The product is available configured for use in the North American 3.65 GHz lightly licensed band, or configurable anywhere from 3.3 to 3.8 GHz for licensed bands worldwide. With channel sizes of 5, 10, 20 and 40 MHz the StarPlus 3Gig is capable of over the air data rates of up to 300 Mbps. By combining EION’s TrustLink™ Technology with MIMO operation, the StarPlus delivers truly unbeatable performance for the delivery of bandwidth intensive multimedia data.

With thousands of nodes deployed in the unlicensed and public safety bands StarPlus is a full featured product with a focus on ease of network deployment, management and security. Advanced Quality of Service (QoS) options are configurable to each CPE with multiple service flows and classifier priorities per subscriber. The product is configured via easy to use web GUI while management and monitoring is accomplished over SNMPv2 using EION’s Constellation NMS or third party management software. Alarms in the enterprise MIB alert the operator immediately to critical service issues. Backed by EION’s solid multi-layer security and powerful encryption users can be assured that their communications are secure.

The StarPlus 3Gig product family is designed for high capacity MIMO point-to-multipoint operation. The product is available in a 5300 all-in-one ruggedized outdoor base station form factor as well as the cost effective 1120 CPE. The CPE has an integrated MIMO panel antenna or external connections for use with a high gain antenna option.
