EION Inc. External Process for Returned Materials Authorization (RMA)

Please follow the process outlined below when returning product to EION.

  • Channel Partners will need to provide the following key information to EION in order to obtain a RMA number:
    • Product type and serial number
    • Details of the product problems that the customer is seeing
    • Date product was purchased (determine if under warranty or not)
    • Federal tax ID number
    • Complete contact and shipping information
    • Original purchase order number that product was purchased against from EION (if possible)
  • The EION Application Engineering Department in Calgary will then qualify the RMA request based on the information provided in the on-line form. In an effort to maintain quality control, the EION Application Engineering Department may contact you or your customer for further information on the nature of the reported failure. If a RMA number is needed, EION does the following:
    • A $125.00 US service repair charge must be paid on all non-warranty radios at time of RMA authorization. This amount will be subtracted from the total repair charge once repairs are completed. Also advised that total repair charge must be paid upfront before product can be shipped out.
    • EION will issue to the Channel Partner a RMA number
    • If the product is not under warranty, EION will quote the repair cost and will request the Channel Partner to submit a Purchase Order for the repair to EION Order Management.
    • EION will ask Channel Partner to instruct the Customer to ship the product back to the Channel Partner using whatever internal RMA process the Channel Partner prefers to use with their customers.
  • Channel Partner ships product back to EION at the address provided in your confirmation email
    • The RMA number must be clearly visible on outside of the box with customs paperwork (if required).
    • Channel Partners must include their Federal Tax ID number on the customs paperwork.
    • Ensure prepaid shipment for ALL product returns.

    In addition to process above, please note:
    • All tariffs, duties, taxes, or fines incurred due to improper paperwork will be charged back to the Channel Partner.
    • If any product (warranty or out of warranty) is returned to EION and deemed "no fault found", a charge will apply as per EION's discretion.
    • RMA numbers are valid for 90 days of issue date.
