Integrated Product Solution

A seamless end-to-end product portfolio has been specifically developed and tested to meet GSM Operator requirements. With GSMeMAX, a remote Base Station Transceiver System (BTS) communicates with a Tidal 500 Multi-Service Gateway (MSG) which converts the T1/E1 payload into IP packets. LibraMAX base station and subscriber station nodes in the backhaul network work seamlessly with the MSG to prioritize traffic and guarantee a high quality transmission path back to the Base Station Controller (BSC).

Tidal 500 Multi-Service Gateway (MSG): MSGs are the demarcation device between GSM cell site equipment and the wireless mobile backhaul network. The Tidal 500 MSG converts structured or unstructured T1/E1 circuits into IP packets and can aggregate it with other IP data traffic for transport over the WiMAX backhaul network.

Subscriber Station (SS): With an all-weather enclosure and integrated antenna, installation at the BTS site is simple and straightforward. QoS support resides in the MAC layer software which limits latency and jitter in the network. EION’s fourth generation OFDM technology gives the highest throughput of any WiMAX vendor and the flexibility of Non-Line-of-Site (NLOS) operation.

Base Station (BS): The BS aggregates voice, data and signaling information, transferred across the wireless link, between multiple GSM Base Station (BTS) cell sites and the Base Station Controller (BSC). A carrier-class WiMAX base station, the BS operates in the licensed 3.4 to 3.6 GHz spectrum eliminating possible interference from competing RF devices.

Network Management Software (NMS): GSMeMAX can be locally or remotely configured using the included network management tools. The NMS provides a rich Graphical User Interface (GUI) that includes comprehensive utilities for network diagnostics and statistics that give operators a great deal of visibility and control over network performance.
