EION Wireless Enhances Point-to-Point Offering

LibraPlus 5860 boasts SNMPv2, web-based GUI and 60 Mbps Throughput

OTTAWA, Canada – January 6, 2010; EION Wireless, a Canadian manufacturer of broadband wireless products, today announced the general availability of the LibraPlus 5860 Point-point family. The LibraPlus 5860 is a high performance 5.x GHz OFDM wireless bridge that operates in license-free 5.8 GHz ISM band and the U-NII Upper, Mid, Global, and Lower bands.

The LibraPlus 5860 builds on the success of the popular LibraPlus 5845, by adding support for SNMPv2, a user friendly web-based graphical user interface and of course a throughput of up to sixty megabits per second (60 Mbps). This speed makes the LibraPlus 5860 the fastest LibraPlus radio on the market and improves on the industry leading ‘price/performance’ ratio of the LibraPlus family.

The LibraPlus 5860 Point-to-Point (PP) family includes two product types, Rapid Deployment (RD) and Extended Range (ER). The RD model is packaged with an integrated antenna to save on time and cost during installation. The ER model is equipped with an N-type antenna connector for connection to an external antenna for long-range applications. Delivering a throughput of up to 60 Mbps, the LibraPlus 5860 PP offers a competitive alternative for backhaul applications.
