EION Wireless Wins 2008 Communications Solutions Product of the Year Award

LibraPlus Recognized for Outstanding Innovation

OTTAWA, Canada - May 28, 2009 - EION Wireless announced today that Technology Marketing Corporation (TMC) has named the LibraPlus Broadband Wireless Radio as a recipient of the 2008 Communications Solutions Product of the Year Award. The LibraPlus is a high performance 5.x GHz outdoor IP-based broadband wireless radio. Key applications for the LibraPlus are in the areas of remote community digitization, IP-based video surveillance networking, disaster recovery, and point-to-point backhaul. This is the third award presented to EION Wireless this month. Earlier in May, EION was selected as a finalist for the Ontario Centres of Excellence (OCE) Mind-to-Market Award in the ITC category and was presented with a WiMAX Distinction Award for the Libra MAX WiMAX Family.

Advanced OFDM technology and a special polling medium access technique enable the LibraPlus 5845 to avoid contention and collisions which maximizes the utilization of the air interface and increases overall throughput. LibraPlus 5845 APs are capable of sharing resources among the CPEs and allocate them in accordance with individual Service Level Agreements (SLA) to maintain Quality of Service (QoS) for voice and video services. The LibraPlus radio is ideally suited to video surveillance applications where a high-throughput and highly-reliable and highly-secure solution is required.
