EION Receives over $2 Million in Orders from the Middle East

New contracts for Intelligent Broadband Wireless Access Products include LibraPlus and Libra MAX WiMAX systems

Ottawa, Canada, March 31, 2008 — EION Wireless, a Global provider of Intelligent Broadband Wireless Systems, today announced that it received new orders totaling over $2 Million USD from three of its Middle East Distributors for wireless products that include the VIP110-24, Ultima3, Libra MAX WiMAX platform and its recently announced 5 GHz LibraPlus 5845 product family.   

“There is a growing need for reliable Broadband Wireless products in the Middle East region which EION delivers with Embedded IP Intelligence making our products unique and ideal for Oil & Gas, Licensed Service Providers and Private Enterprise customers. This is an exciting expansion of EION’s growing installed base in the Middle East and further volume orders will follow during 2008” said Hassan Abdelghany, VP of Sales Africa, Middle East & Central Asia Regions.

Over half of the radio units have been shipped in February, with the balance of the orders shipping in March, 2008.

The expanded deployments for EION products in the Middle East now include new customers in Saudi Arabia, Lebanon, UAE and Libya for both unlicensed 2.4 and 5 GHz products and for Licensed 3.5 GHz WiMAX systems for both backhaul and multipoint data, voice and video surveillance applications.
