EION Wireless introduces Cellular Backhaul Solution

Affordable Multipoint E1/T1 Backhaul over WiMAX

Ottawa ON, December 7, 2007 — EION Wireless, a global provider of broadband wireless communications products, today announced the introduction of GSMeMAX, a cellular backhaul solution that lets mobile operators reduce spending on cellular backhaul services and establishes a clear path for addressing the trend towards increasing data rates in 3G networks.

As the worldwide demand for cellular phones skyrockets and new services push the bandwidth limits of existing cellular backbone networks mobile operators seeking to expand current networks or reduce their dependence on dedicated landline operators are increasingly turning to wireless backhaul alternatives such as the GSMeMAX. GSMeMAX eliminates an operator’s dependence on leased lines by allowing them to transport E1 or T1 traffic over a wireless Point-to-Multipoint WiMAX network.

With the solution mobile operators can easily expand networks into remote geographies and address new or underserved markets and deploy backhaul networks in a fraction of the time it takes to deploy existing backhaul solutions. The GSMeMAX solution will be unveiled December 9th, 2007 at Transport Networks for Mobile Operators – Middle East (TNMO – ME) conference in Dubai, UAE.
