Live Demonstration of Dual-Mode WiMAX at GITEX 2007

EION Wireless Libra MAX Powered by Wavesat Mini-PCI

Dubai, UAE; September 7, 2007 EION Wireless a global provider of broadband wireless communications products, will be giving a live demonstration of its award winning Libra MAX™ WiMAX system at GITEX 2007. The Libra MAX system combines Wavesat’s award-winning Mini-PCI design with EION’s expertise and leadership in Broadband Wireless and IP networking to create the ultimate WiMAX platform.

Operating in the 3 GHz frequency bands, Libra MAX is the world’s first dual-mode integrated chassis-based WiMAX product. Dual-mode capability gives service providers a choice of delivering triple play services – voice video and data - in 802.16 WiMAX or Turbo W-OFDM. Turbo W-OFDM is a patented technology that is capable of faster transmission speeds than those permitted by the WiMAX standard.

Libra MAX uses Wavesat’s WiMAX Forum Certified™ Mini-PCI design in both its subscriber station and base station components. The Mini-PCI design is a development platform supporting manufacturers’ efforts to design WiMAX-compliant wireless devices for the 3 GHz and 5.8 GHz frequency bands. Wavesat’s Mini-PCI design simplifies overall system design, enabling customers to bring WiMAX solutions to market faster and more cost-efficiently, while allowing for flexibility to address further changes driven by the WiMAX emerging market dynamics, application diversity and customer profiles.
