EION Wireless launches EION Product Training & WiMAX Essentials Certificate Training initiative at Dubai’s GITEX, 2006
EION’s WiMAX Training initiative provides strategic value to customers in Africa & the Middle East.
Ottawa, Canada & Dubai, UAE – November 18, 2006 – EION Wireless, a global provider of Broadband Wireless Access and Backhaul products, today announced the launching of its new WiMAX Essentials Certificate & EION Product Specific Certification and training initiative. This comes on the heels of EION’s recent introduction at the WiMAX World Forum in Boston, USA of its Libra MAX™ WiMAX Platform product family. The Libra MAX architecture, a versatile platform for WiMAX broadband wireless networks and for integrating EION’s IP Intelligence, is an evolution of the field-proven Libra MX products acquired by EION from Wi-LAN Inc. in April 2006. Dual-mode operation, part of the Libra MAX architecture, means operators can roll-out industry standard 802.16-2004 WiMAX interoperable public networks as well as proprietary Turbo W-OFDM networks when service requirements dictate greater security and performance.
EION’s new wireless training initiative offers both WiMAX Essentials Wireless Engineer Certificate & EION Product Specific Wireless Engineer Certificate training courses to the engineering and management community of Licensed Wireless Internet Service Providers - WISP, Telecom Operators, Telecom Regulatory Agencies, Cellular GSM Operators, University Communities and Private Enterprises in the Africa, Middle East & Central Asia Markets.
EION’s WiMAX Essentials Wireless Engineer Certificate
courses cover RF & Wireless Fundamentals, WiMAX Fundamentals, WiMAX
RF Planning Network Design & Implementation and 802.16e Mobile WiMAX
Fundamentals. Those WiMAX Essentials courses will be offered in Dubai
on a quarterly basis starting in January, 2007. Engineers, Telecom Managers & Experienced
Wireless Technicians that complete two WiMAX Essentials courses will
become WiMAX Essentials Wireless Certified Engineers.
EION Product Specific Wireless Engineer Certificate
courses will cover all of EION’s product families such as the VIP
110-24, Ultima 3, Libra 5800, Ranger 5145 and Libra MAX WiMAX Platform
System Solution. Each of those product courses will cover Network Design,
Product Installation and Troubleshooting. Libra MAX WiMAX Platform Product
Training Courses will be offered at customer locations for maximum customer
flexibility providing EION’s customers for Libra MAX WiMAX solutions
with effective hands on training service that is not matched by other
wireless vendors in Africa and the Middle East Region.

EION Wireless is displaying its Libra MAX WiMAX Platform System Solution at GITEX, 2006 in Dubai, UAE which follows its successful live demonstration at the recent WiMAX World USA show in Boston. EION will be providing at the GITEX Exhibition further details about Libra MAX triple play capabilities and about its Dual Mode capability using its MAX-Turbo Base Station Sector Card and the new MAX-16 WiMAX Base Station Sector Card. The Libra MAX system will be displayed at EION’s Booth at the GITEX Canadian Pavilion Exhibition Hall.
The Libra MAX platform, based on Wi-LAN’s Libra MX System, is already operating in large-scale nationwide network deployments in the Middle East, Africa and Russia/CIS regions. The new 3.5GHz MAX-16 WiMAX Base Station Sector Card, ODU and Subscriber Stations being displayed at the GITEX show adds industry standard 802.16-2004 WiMAX capability to a field proven platform.
