EION Wireless Partners with Wavesat to Provide WiMAX Standard Based Solutions

Wavesat Wimax Chipset Integrated Into EION Intelligent Broadband Wireless Products

OTTAWA Canada—October 04, 2006; EION Wireless, providers of intelligent broadband wireless access and backhaul solutions, today announced that it is collaborating with Wavesat as a WiMAX technology partner to deliver the next generation of WiMAX standard based products. EION already has an established global customer base with its leading WiMAX class product, Libra MX. Integration of Wavesat’s WiMAX chipset with EION’s product line will enable EION to rapidly deliver WiMAX complaint products to the market.

Wavesat’s product architecture gives the flexibility that EION was looking for to deliver advanced services using our WiMAX platform.” said EION CEO Kalai Kalichelvan, “We are very excited to have Wavesat on board as one of our series of technology partners.”

EION’s partnership with Wavesat will enable EION to develop IEEE 802.16 standard products while building on its experience in IP networking intelligence to create a suite of the most advanced WiMAX compliant products available today.
