EION Ranger 5050 Wireless Bridge is RoHS Compliant

Unlicensed Band Radio Ideal for European Deployment

OTTAWA, Canada – July 07, 2006; EION Wireless, a division of EION Inc., has announced that its Ranger 5050 Wireless Bridge is fully RoHS compliant. As of July 1st, 2006, all Ranger 5050 Wireless Bridges will conform to the directive outlined by the European Union for hazardous substances.

The Restriction of Hazardous Substances (RoHS) Directive restricts the use of certain hazardous substances in electrical and electronic equipment. This directive bans new electrical and electronic equipment on the EU market containing more than agreed levels of lead, cadmium, mercury, hexavalent chromium, polybrominated biphenyl (PBB) and polybrominated diphenyl ether (PBDE) flame retardants. The RoHS directive comes into effect on 1 July 2006 in the European Union.

EION's Ranger 5050 is already well suited for deployment in the European marketplace since it operates in the 5150-5350 MHz and 5470-5725 MHz bands which are publicly available in all Member States of the European Union. With Dynamic Data Rate Selection and OFDM technology to maximize data content and throughput with each transmission, the Ranger 5050’s cost/performance ratio is one of the best in the industry.

The RoHS compliance of the Ranger 5050 is indicated with two different logos on the product. One is a drawing of a trash can with a slash through it to indicate that this product should be recycled and not disposed of. The second symbol is a stylized RoHS logo indicating that the product is RoHS compliant.
