EION Wireless establishes Calgary Sales, Support and Distribution Center

Acquisition of Wi-LAN Broadband Wireless Product Lines Completed

OTTAWA, Canada – June 30, 2006 – EION Wireless, a division of EION Inc., announced that it has opened a second Canadian location in Calgary and retained a dedicated group of employees from the former Wi-LAN Inc. Product Division. The company has now finalized the acquisition of the Ultima 3, VIP and LIBRA MX broadband wireless product lines from Wi-LAN Inc. including the assets along with the orders in–hand.

The EION Wireless Calgary team will handle support and sales operations for the Ultima 3, VIP, LIBRA MX, and Libra 5800 product lines. EION Wireless is well represented globally with more than 165 local channel partners. The new Calgary center is also responsible for shipping, production, RMA requests, software support and hardware support.

The Wi-LAN products complement the current Ranger and Tidal product families. The Libra MX™, the world’s first fourth-generation OFDM broadband wireless product, gives WiMAX performance today, and a guaranteed migration to WiMAX-certified systems. The Libra 5800 and Ultima 3 operate in the 5.8 GHz ISM and U-NII unlicensed spectrums providing extended and cost effective coverage for point-to-point or point-to-multipoint applications. The 2.4 GHz VIP 110-24 uses patented VINE technology to overcome non-line-of-sight obstacles.
