EION Wireless Displays Ranger 5110 at GTEC Week

Ottawa, Canada October 10 2005, EION Wireless along with their partner, FirstComm Wireless, presented EION’s Ranger 5110 product line to public sector IT professionals at last week’s GTEC Week Exhibition. As the Government of Canada continues to expand their networks to areas outside of downtown cores, the need for secure high bandwidth wireless equipment also continues to grow.

During the technology exhibition, the EION/FirstComm booth received more than 120 visitors expressing positive interest in a wide range of wireless capabilities including: wireless infrastructure, mobile data, remote surveillance and security, and VoIP. Several Canadian ambassadors present at the event inquired about EION products and services, recognizing EION’s position among global leaders in wireless communication.

"This is an important event for EION because it allows us to speak directly with key decision makers in the public sector." said EION’s Bruno Lepine, "We are pleased to have been able to support our local partner, FirstComm Wireless, in promoting local technology to the Canadian Government."

The EION Ranger 5110 displayed at GTEC provides 36 Mbps over-the-air communication links for point-to-point or point-to-multipoint applications. The Ranger 5110 is ideal for connecting office LANs (Local Area Network) together, or for linking a Wireless MAN (Metropolitan Area Network) to an Internet backbone. Additional information on the Ranger 5110 including a technical datasheet can be found on the Ranger 5110 product page.
