UAV Competition

The competition takes place May 4 and 5, 2007 in Happy Valley, Goose Bay Labrador, Canada

EION Wireless is proud to be a technology sponsor at Canada’s first UAV (Unmanned Aerial Vehicle) Competition. The competition is organized by UVS Canada, a national non-profit association representing public and private innovation in unmanned vehicle systems.

The purpose of this competition is to promote and develop Canadian expertise and experience in unmanned system technologies at the university and college levels. This inaugural Canadian competition features a mission of particular interest to both the civilian and defence sectors in Canada: Search and Rescue.

EION Wireless will be providing equipment for the transmission of video data during the fly-off portion of the competition. The fly-off phase is the second and final phase in the two year competition. In the first phase teams were required to create detailed technical reports and specifications for their vehicles. During the fly-off phase, teams will validate what they have put in the reports with a live search and rescue mission demonstrating the UAV’s abilities.
