LibraPlus 5860 and VIP 110-24 Selected to Supply Internet and Multimedia Delivery to Schools and Residences in Ecuador
OTTAWA, CANADA and BOCA RATON USA – July 18, 2011 – EION Inc., a manufacturer of broadband wireless products and Sinwire Inc., EION’s Gold channel partner for Mexico and Latin America, today announced that EION's LibraPlus 5860 and VIP 110-24 have been selected for a Nationwide Educational Network covering the majority of Ecuador. The educational network will provide Internet access and multimedia delivery to schools and residences located in the service area. A key component of the wireless network is EION’s LibraPlus 5860 which is capable of backhaul and multipoint distribution.
The National Telecommunications Secretariat for Ecuador, SENATEL, awarded the contract for the supply, commissioning and testing of the broadband radio network. Work is currently underway on the first phase of the deployment which will cover 514 school districts in Northern Ecuador. The network includes the LibraPlus 5860 with Trustlink technology and the VINE-based VIP 110-24.

The LibraPlus 5860 with TrustLink technology is an advanced broadband wireless platform capable of throughput speeds of up to 60 Mbps. The LibraPlus 5860 was selected primarily because of its ease of deployment and rugged construction.
