Dr. Kalai Kalaichelvan
Chairman & Chief Executive Officer
Dr. Kalai Kalaichelvan founded EION in 2001, and has since grown the business to become a world leader in IP software and wireless networking solutions. He was the Chairman and co-founder of iPine Networks prior to its acquisition by Nakina Systems. Dr. Kalaichelvan brings over 20 years of experience in the communications industry in business and technology leadership. For his entrepreneurial innovation, CATA Alliance and National Research Council honored him with Innovator of the Year 2004 Award. He is currently the only Canadian member on the Advisory Board of Samsung Electronics, Seoul, Korea.
Prior to founding EION, he held the position of Vice President in Nortel Networks in the wireless and carrier networking division. Dr. Kalai Kalaichelvan holds a Ph.D. and M.Sc. from the University of Toronto.
Dale Squires brings over 30 years of telecommunications experience to EION Wireless. Prior to joining EION, he was President of FASTLAN Engineering Inc, where he specialized in assisting high tech companies build their management teams and develop and execute effective strategic business plans. His successes include multiple start-up companies, one of which progressed from start-up to stock market listing in 5 years.
Senior Vice President, Technology & Business Operations
Guido brings more than 30 years of operational management experience in a variety of roles. Prior to joining EION, he held different senior positions both domestically and internationally at Mitel spanning a 25 year period including Operations Planning and Procurement, General Plant Management and Project Management. He was also Vice President of Operations at Med-Eng Systems and subsequently Allen-Vanguard Corporation where he assisted the company in going public through acquisition.
Most recently Guido was engaged in his own consultancy practice, to share his many skills and experience with several Eastern Ontario based hi-tech companies.
Dr. Anand Srinivasan
Vice President Technology & Product Management
Dr. Anand Srinivasan is an expert in system and network engineering for IP based wireless networks. With over 15 years of experience in system design and network planning for large scale wired and wireless networks Dr. Srinivasan is the principal architect developing EION's innovative mobile Ad Hoc networking technology and award winning WiMAX product line.
In addition to his work with EION, Dr. Srinivasan is an Adjunct Research Professor in the Department of System and Computer Engineering at Carleton University. In this role he has been responsible for the stewardship of various projects with the Canadian Space Agency, Precarn, the Ontario Centres of Excellence.
Prior to joining EION, Dr. Srinivasan worked as a technical lead in the wireless and optical divisions at Nortel. His efforts were instumental in optimizing the performance of many of their flagship products, including the popular One Meg Modem.
Dr. Srinivasan holds a Ph.D and M.Sc. in computer science from the University of Victoria, British Columbia. He has published over twenty-five papers in the areas of operating systems, distributed systems, fault-tolerance and optimization and holds two patents. He is a member of IEEE and AIAA and serves regularly in several research panels and external conferences including the ITC and Canadian UAV Forum.
Vice President of Sales Africa, Middle East & Central Asia
Mr. Hassan Abdelghany has extensive knowledge of the Broadband Wireless and telecommunications sector. His experience over the last decade servicing major National Licensed Operators and Major Enterprise Customers in the Middle East region will be instrumental to EION’s success in the region. As EION’s Vice President of Sales for Africa, Middle East and Central Asia regions, Mr. Abdelghany will fulfill EION’s mandate to lead the company’s sales, marketing and customer support efforts in this important geographical area.
Mr. Abdelghany has held several Manufacturing Engineering and Senior International Telecom Sales positions in North America and the Middle East Region and holds a Bachelor of Science Degree in Industrial Engineering from the University of Lowell, Lowell, MA. USA.
Advisor, Strategic Sales
Previously Sr. Vice-president of Sales & Marketing for Wi-LAN Inc., Chris Beadle brings 25 years of experience from a variety of senior Sales and Marketing positions within the Canadian Telecom and Technology sectors. Prior to Wi-LAN, Mr. Beadle held positions of Vice President Marketing for Bell West , Vice President Sales & Marketing for TELUS Marketing Services, and Executive Vice-President and COO for DonorWare, Inc., a North American leader of outsourced technology for non profit organizations.
Chris resides in Calgary and holds MBA and BA degrees from the University of Toronto.
Terry Curtis has worked in the telecommunications and computing industries for 40 years. He brings outstanding management experience, product development and strategic and operational ICT expertise in implementing e-governance in the global enterprise Nortel Networks. He is one of the pioneering contributors to Nortel Networks’ leadership in Digital switching Technology revolution. His ICT experience and digital governance expertise spans the global reach of Nortel Networks’ operations and logistics’.
During his 36 years with Nortel Networks and its former incarnations, Northern Electric, Bell-Northern Research and Northern Telecom, Terry as a Vice President was involved in many aspects of the company’s growth. These included Information Technology including Nortel’s internal e-governance, optical components development, silicon components development, computer aided design, S/W development and telecommunications systems development.
Mr. Curtis holds a Masters of Engineering from the University of Ottawa and is a Professional Engineer
